NHS in the North West and ABPI working together for patients
The case for closer working between the NHS and the pharmaceutical industry is becoming stronger: medicines in development will transform the way in which health services are delivered in future, and patients not taking their medicines appropriately experience less positive health outcomes and make disproportionate use of scarce healthcare resources.
Despite this significantly common agenda, relationships between the NHS and the pharmaceutical industry are underdeveloped at all levels and the full potential for skills development and innovation in service delivery is seldom realised. The NHS in the North West and the ABPI are working together to organise the second Innovation through Partnership meeting – The QIPP Challenge.
This event will enable improved dialogue between NHS and industry and help to identify specific areas where both can work in partnership to benefit the lives of patients. There will be an opportunity for selected NHS and Pharmaceutical companies to present to each other on areas where they believe partnerships can be established in the future.
